We were recently notified by the DCG school district that the use of the facilities we had reserved for our Spring recital will no longer be available as originally agreed upon in our contract. New construction is once again planned at DCG and because they were unwilling to honor our contract that forced us to look into securing an alternate performance space. Because we released the dates of May 30th and 31st for rehearsals as well as June 1st and 2nd for recitals we wanted to do everything in our power to honor those dates as we know how busy our families are, and that vacations and more may already be scheduled around these dates. We have spent a significant amount of time exhausting all options in Des Moines and surrounding areas in order to secure a new and adequate space for our rehearsal and performance dates as planned. We are happy to announce that rehearsals & recitals will still be held as planned on June 1st & 2nd, but the location will change to Saydel High School at 5601 NE Seventh St., Des Moines.

We have toured the location and although it will be new space for us to work in, we are excited to take advantage of their newly renovated facilities and staging capabilities. The auditorium features stadium seating and stage lighting features that we will be able to use to enhance the recital experience for both our dancers and guests.

We hope that once our studio families have had time to process the news of the location change that they too will look forward to the perks that Saydel High School will offer. We plan to share more info with you on “BPDA Recital 2024” as the time draws near so, please keep a close eye on emails as well as our accounts on the social media platforms of Instagram and Facebook.
